Ginny Ford

Ginny Ford manages faculty-led study abroad programs for Virginia Tech’s College of Natural Resources and Environment, supporting programs from concept to completion. She partners with faculty, students, and administrators to design and deliver impactful study abroad experiences.

Her professional background spans scientific research, nonprofit work, teaching, and leadership within scouting organizations. Ginny previously lived in the United Kingdom for two years, where she began her family, an experience that continues to shape her appreciation for international living and cross-cultural connection. Her own travels, including walking the Camino de Santiago, backpacking through Europe with students, and spending time in Costa Rica and Guatemala, deeply inform her approach to preparing students for immersive experiences abroad.

Outside of work, Ginny is an avid hiker, gardener, cook, and DIY enthusiast. She enjoys life in the New River Valley and engaging with Virginia Tech’s multicultural community.
